"To have only those with the designation Chartered Director* appointed as corporate directors of Canadian public corporations and government agencies and to have the Chartered Director* (C. Dir.*) designation recognized as the highest standard in the qualifications of a Director."

Our Goals

  • To have the need for the certification of independent directors accepted by the current cadre of professional and independent directors
  • To enlist the support of regulatory agencies and professional authorities in the certification process
  • To develop a high quality training program for independent directors
  • To "enroll" the first candidates in the corporate directors' training program.
  • To certify the first independent directors of Canadian public corporations and government agencies
  • To make appropriate provision for the ongoing training and testing of corporate directors once certified (i.e. professional education credits)
