Chartered Directors
Check back for updates regarding your designation, additional
courses and events.
For example, a candidate completing his/her Chartered
Director designation in 2005 would need to earn 30 hours of
continuing professional development between January 1, 2006
and December 31, 2008. He/she would then need to earn another
30 hours between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011 and
so on.
Courses, seminars and events that qualify for this continuing
professional development program include:
- All specialized track programs offered by The Directors
College, including Audit Committee Program (ACC)*, Human
Resource Committee Certified (HRCC)* and Governance and
Nominating Committee Certified (GNCC)*.
- McMaster World Congress – Corporate Governance
sessions. Held annually in January in Hamilton, Ontario.
(up to 11 hours)
- Conference Board of Canada’s Corporate Governance
Conference. Held annually in January or February in Toronto,
Ontario. (8 hours)
- Conference Board of Canada’s Western Corporate Governance
Forum. Held annually in Western Canada. (up to 11 hours)
- Conference Board of Canada’s Corporate Social Responsibility
Conference. Held annually in May in Toronto, Ontario.

In addition, if candidates have a specific event they would
like to attend as part of their continuing professional development
that does not appear on the list above, they may apply to
The Directors College management team for approval of that
corporate governance event or course. The request for approval
should include details about the event and should be submitted
prior to attendance.

and must be provided to The Directors College office by fax
